I LOOKED INTO INVISIBLE FENCE A FEW YEARS AGO AND WAS TOLD YOU HAD TO KEEP THEM AWAY FROM METAL. WHEN I TALKED TO THE EXPERTS AT PETSAFE THEY SAID IT SHOULDN’T BE A PROBLEM. I INSTALLED THIS TO KEEP THE DOGS OUT OF NEW BEDDING AREAS AND A BERM, SO CONSEQUENTLY IT RUNS ALONG METAL EDGEING WHERE NECESSARY, IN SOME AREAS WITH LANDSCAPE LIGHTING WIRES, AND PART OF IT HANGS ON A CHAIN LINK FENCE. NO PROBLEMS. SPENT ABOUT 5 MINUTES TRAINING MY 90 LB LAB AND HE PICKED IT UP IMMEDIATELY. NO MORE “LIFTING HIS LEG” AND KILLING THE 50 NEW SHRUBS I PLANTED. IN ONE AREA I HAD TO RUN THE WIRE SOMEWHAT THROUGH THE MIDDLE OF THE BED IN ORDER TO GIVE HIM ROOM TO USE THE SIDEWALK BUT I PLACED THE FLAGS AT THE EDGE OF THE BED AND HE STAYS CLEAR OF IT AND HAS PLENTY OF ROOM ON THE SIDEWALK. I HAVE EVERYTHING SET TO THE LOWEST LEVEL AND IT WORKS FINE.
TIP-BEFORE PURCHASING I NOTICED IN SOME OF THE REVIEWS PEOPLE COMPLAINING ABOUT TWISTING THE WIRES. IT REALLY CAN BE A PAIN IN THE BEHIND. I JUST DOUBLED THE WIRE OVER AND PUT ONE END IN MY CORDLESS VARIABLE SPEED DRILL AND TWISTED IT UP! TAKES ABOUT 30 SECONDS TO DO 30 FEET OF PERFECTLY TWISTED WIRE. I RAN BETWEEN 4 BEDS AND UNDER 2 SIDEWALKS WITH ABSOLUTELY NO PROBLEMS. IT GIVES YOU MORE SPLICES BUT IF YOU ARE CAREFUL MAKING THEM IT HAS NO LOSS OF EFFECTIVENESS. A REAL TIME SAVER.

I was skeptical about the sanity of my wife in wanting this system but I went ahead and ordered it. Installation was pretty simple. The only problem seem to be the border to nullify the effects of the fence. Either it’s not working properly or I don’t have the wires twisted close enough together. All in all the fence is working great. We have a St. Bernard and a German Shepard and they are staying home – so far. It does take a training period to get them use to the boundarys (about 3 days for these dogs). We can even let them out without their collars and they don’t stray but that’s only on brief occurances.

I bought this online due to the limited availability of models at Lowe’s or Home Depot. Lowe’s and Home Depot had fences for small or stubborn dogs. I have neither.
This model works great. Had it for a couple monhs with no problems. Bought extra wire from Lowe’s to fence in two acres.
A few concerns before buying. It actually takes almost twice as much wire to fence in only the front or back of a house. There is a lot of burying. I used a metal blade edger to dig the small trench needed to bury the wire.

My cat discovered how to use the doggy door a little while back and I was worried that something would happen to him. After almost running him over myself and a cat eating coyote running the neighborhood I had to do something! I tried other products like sound devices but nothing worked. I researched this product and I was safe for my 10lb cat to use. I installed the wire around the doggy door and the back door and it worked like a charm. He doesn’t get close even without the collar these days and I don’t have to worry about him getting hurt.

This product has worked great. We have an area we don’t want our dog going to and he won’t come anywhere near it. It was pretty easy to install also. We used to have one with an above ground wire, but this looks so much better, as there is nothing to see. It also makes it much easier to mow the lawn.
