Is it safe to get a kitten or cat from a shelter? It’s going to be my first pet. What would i need to care for it.
Is it mandatory to get the shots for the kitten and how much do they cost?

How to buy and care for a cat/kitten – first pet ever ?

i feel shy asking here – everyone has some pet or the other. First time I’m gonna have a pet – for my 8 year old daughter who is v keen on it, though i’m not a pet person at all.

if u dont mind pls spend some time telling me – especially the early traning part – how to inculcate good habits (soiling etc.) in her, shd we neuter her first, we live in an apartment – does she need to go out? sleep times, food times?

Why do some cats care about the orientation of my hand when I pet them?

For instance, some cats freak out if I pat them on the head from the front, and reach my arm over their faces.

But these same cats don’t really care if I use another angle, and pat them from above or from behind, so that my arm is not blocking their faces.

Why is this?

How to take care of a cat when going to college and living alone?

So im going to be living alone in an apartment and going to college, I want to get a cat because its the only pet they allow me to have in this place and I dont really know how to take care of it if im going leaving for college every morning. I thought of an automatic feeder but Im afraid I wont give the cat the attention needed.
also, in any case I have to travel by airplane, is it a hard procedure to get your cat through the airline policies regarding pets?

The pet shop sold me a pregnant cat but I only wanted one?

I don’t want to seem terrible or dreadful or Hiter-like but what do I do? I’ve only got the time to take care of one cat. My flatmate is threatening to dump them all onto the street. The pet shop doesn’t want them and they refuse to give a refund. I’ve only adopted it for a week and when I brought it for checkups, I get a whole litter. But thing is – the pet shop kills the cats when they aren’t sold in a few weeks.
