help with pet care??? i want a dog!!!?

hey i am 14 and i really want a yorkie, they are so cute and i love them so much i dogsat some before but now i really want to get one, i tell my parents i will walk it play with it feed it and clean up its "messes" i will was it too, all they have to do it buy food and stuff.. well can someone tell me more about getting a dog, and if they think i should get on and a way i can convince my parents i will take GOOD care of it, so ideas? help pleaseee.
well if nobody thinks i should get a dog… what other pet would be good for a 14 year old?
